Confessions of a Bag-a-holic: My Collection

As I have mentioned before, bags are one of my (many) weaknesses. My collection ranges from super affordable to mid-range bags. When I was younger, I went for more trendier bags and now, I am investing more moolah in favour of quality.

So here is most of my collection. I still have a few clutches and other travel bags that I would love to take a pic of someday.

P.S. >> I'll try and remember the entire bag name but I can't promise that for all of them. I'll also do an in-depth review of my fave bags.

Goldilocks dilemna

I am always on a quest to find the perfect wallet. Hence over the years, I have accumulated quite a collection of continental wallets, coin purses, phone wallets, zipped wallets, etc. You name the type and I most likely have it.

Ikea Alex drawer
Props to anyone who can name these all.

Yet I am still on a hunt.

Wants:
- The size must be perfect. Nothing too long and it has to fit in my hand nicely.
- A wrist strap would be nice.
- A compartment for coins is a must.
- Must accommodate my bajillion store cards.

Here are new additions to that family:

MK wallet on a chain in red saffiano leather.
Kate Spade Darla coin purse in surporange.

I've always wanted some wallet on a chain and the MK was a nice fit. Plus the red saffiano is so gorgeous and it's quite roomy inside. It is a little bulky but I think it would be handy for going out at night where all I really need are my phone, some cash, keys and a lipstick.

The Kate Spade on the other hand was a good deal I found on Ebay that was hard to pass. I did like that it had a zipped compartment on the inside, a chain for my keys and a see through slot on the back for ID or public transit cards.

Both from F21.

these 2 were just plain cute. I think the penguin coin purse was $2+ and the owl pouch was $6+.

Maybe I'll do an in-depth post of all my wallets someday when I got the time.

:)

Earlier this year, I embarked on the "52 Week Money Challenge" that was going around online. I thought it was a brilliant idea and would leave me with over $1300 at the end of the year. I figured that I could use the money for Christmas gifts or I could reward myself with a nice vacation.

There are many PDFs and guides online and it is not too late to start :D

MK

Besides makeup, another one of my shopping loves are purses :)

I prefer investing more money with purses because with good care, they can last a long time and even appreciate in value when reselling.

However, someone as fickle-minded as I am, I cannot justify spending more than $500 on a bag because I like to switch my purses every now and then. So a $2000 Celine or $5000 Chanel is just not practical for me. I like to apply the whole "pay per use" method when shopping so at the moment, I can only afford bags from contemporary labels and not the super high-end ones.

Recently, I am just lovin the styles and colours that MK came out with. Especially with a durable leather like the saffiano, I know the bags will stand the test of time.

Michael Kors Selma Colorblock Saffiano Satchel in Pink and Black - $298

Here are my 2 Selmas. One was a limited edition released over the summer. It's the medium pink and black colourblock. And oh man, she is a beaut! The pink is just so vibrant and I always receive compliments when I wear it out. I didn't think that I was a pink person but she is just gorgeous in real life.

The messenger one is a new release with the grommets instead of the stud detail. I also love this mini bag. It is actually quite spacious inside. However.. I decided to return it because I felt that I already had a couple of black bags with silver hardware (ie. this one).

Michael Kors Chelsea Small Messenger Bag in Black - $278
(Got on sale for $149 :D)

So I made a decision to wait until Spring 2014 and hope that MK releases a more fun and unique grommet colour.

Michael Kors Bedford Gusset Crossbody Bag in Navy - $198

So I exchanged it for this puppy. The MK Bedford Gusset bag. It's quite a dupe for the Celine trio except the pouches are not detachable from one another. I am a sucker for compartments, zippers and dividers so this is right up my alley. It's perfect for travel, quick errands, a night out and plenty more.

Well this was fun. I think I might do more bag reviews and reveals in the future.

Finally!

I have been waiting for MAC to release the new version of their pro palettes and I am sooo glad that they're finally here.  Not sure when it was released but I was watching a makeup collection video on YT and I saw the new palettes so I hauled my ass to a MAC store the following day lol. I haven't been this excited for a MAC product since.. hmm, actually it has been awhile.  MAC collections these days are a bit meh.
These were my old ones.  Who remembers sticking the names of the e/s on the inside lid so they know the names?? Hehe..
Did a little switcheroo and voila!
Here are the individual shots:
Blues, Purples, Reds, Pinks and Oranges
Yellows, Golds and Greens
Neutrals - Greys, Blacks, Beiges, Peaches and Browns
So keep in mind that I started collecting makeup in '09 and I was MAC-obsessed then, hence the massive amount of eyeshadows lol.  I seriously contemplated of getting the Z-palette but hesitated since they're cardboard.  I did buy a quad from MAC with the new packaging back in Feb 2010 and have been waiting since for this to come out so yay!!

Anyhoo, about this palette.. you can either buy it on it's own or you can get the insert (which is an additional $11 CAD) for it which houses 15 eyeshadows.  Also, the old version can house about 26 eyeshadows but I only managed to fit 24 on the new one.  The new version is also a lot taller than the old one which means that your depotted mineralized make-up should have no problem hitting the lid.

Overall, I love this new version and it has been a long time coming.  I am hoping that MAC would someday release an XL size (:
I will for sure buy more and I dunno what to do with the old palettes now (maybe B2M?).
